It is with great pride I announce today that Aristata Communications has been acquired by Visionary Broadband. It’s an acquisition that will ensure you continue to have the reliable, high-speed internet service you need and deserve.

The sale of Aristata was neither a simple nor an easy decision. It was made with three over-arching goals: Do what is best for you, our customers; take care of the dedicated and talented employees who will make sure your internet service continues to be the high quality you have come to expect; and continue the company’s longstanding commitment to the values of the communities we serve.

I’m pleased to tell you that Visionary Broadband will fulfill all of those goals.

I chose to partner with Visionary because they are cut from the same cloth of humble beginnings in the rural West as Aristata. They understand our unique rural challenges because they live them, too. Every day. Moreover, we already have a history of working together using Visionary’s dual-routed network from Salida, Buena Vista, and Leadville to reach Denver.

Visionary was founded in 1994 in Gillette, Wyoming. Today, the rural internet provider serves five states, including Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado, with a proven track record of connecting the most remote mountain communities, bringing rural customers a new level of commitment to reliable internet service.

Perhaps most importantly, all Aristata employees will keep their jobs with the new company. That was a factor that weighed heavily in my decision to partner with Visionary. Visionary has a deep bench of experienced staff who will expand Aristata’s abilities to serve and keep pace with your needs.

You, our customers, will not experience any immediate changes from this acquisition. Our website, billing portal, and branding will all remain the same for some time. If and when changes do occur, they will not come as a surprise to you. We will communicate any changes before they happen.

Dan R

Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
