Anna Juanita (Keene) Boyd, one-week shy of 102 years old, of Buena Vista passed away on April 25th at Skyline Ridge Nursing Home in Canon City.,
She was born May 2nd, 1923, in Siloam, Kentucky to Louis and Tenna Keene. She married James Orin Boyd on Nov. 2nd, 1940, who she met in the 6th grade. She played basketball and baseball in grade school and High School and graduated from Washinton Township High School, Portsmouth, Ohio in 1941. She was a member of the Rosie the Riveter Association of America.
She worked in a steel mill in Portsmouth, Ohio during World War II testing lugs on bombs. She liked to travel and managed to travel to 34 of the States and 10 European Countries.
She was proceeded in death by her Mother and Father, her Husband, one son, Robert Orin Boyd, two brothers, Donald Keene and Harold Keene, three sisters, Eula Weaver, Avanell Webb, and Loretta Keene. One Grandson J. D. Rodman and one Great Granddaughter, Savannha Burke. She is survived by one Son, Keith (Sandy) Boyd, Five Grandchildren, Marc (Jennifer) Boyd of Spokane, WA., Richard Boyd of Boston, MA, Robert Boyd of North Carolina and Ashley McGowan of Buena Vista, Co and Jason Rodman of Buena Vista, Co. Nine Great Grandchildren, Avery (Joe}, Morgan, Gavin, Madilynn, Kristian, Cailee, Joey, Zenya and Zoeyanna. She was a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church. She was very loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
At her request there will not be any Service of Memorial.
