Chaffee County Fire in partnership with the South Arkansas Fire Protection District are planning to implement a prescribed pile burn beginning Wednesday the 28th as conditions allow. The piles are located on the Hutchinson Ranch east of the Multi Use Facility on highway 50. The purpose for the burn is to reduce wood slash and debris to facilitate construction of flood abatement measures in order to protect communities downstream of the ranch.
Fire apparatus and personnel from both of our county’s fire protection districts will be on site for the entirety of the one or two day project. The public can expect to see and smell smoke and flames in the area during the operation.
