A community meeting has been scheduled for tonight by Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores as they plan a new development in Poncha Springs. The public meeting will take place tonight from 5pm to 7pm at Elevation Beer Company in Poncha Springs.
Last year Love’s proposed building a truck stop on five acres of land they own in Poncha but was denied approval by Town Trustees citing the size and noise levels associated with a truck stop. Love’s is now proposing a smaller convenience store about the size of their Buena Vista location. They estimate that the new convenience store would employ 27 people and generate $800,000 annually in taxes. Love’s will share information on the revised proposal.
