A community meeting has been scheduled for Thursday by Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores as they plan a new development in Poncha Springs. The meeting will happen at Elevation Beer Company at 115 Pahlone Pkwy, Poncha Springs. Time of the meeting to be announced.
Love’s wanted to build a truck stop on five acres of land they own in Poncha Springs last year but was denied approval by the Town Trustees citing public concerns over the size and noise levels associated with a truck stop. Love’s is now proposing a smaller convenience store about the size of their Buena Vista location. They estimate that the new convenience store would employ 27 people and generate $800,000 in taxes.
Love’s will share information on the revised proposal at the meeting.
