Cynthia Beth Girard, cherished wife and loving mother, passed away on September 20, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on December 11, 1958, in Ecorse, Michigan, Cyndi’s vibrant spirit and nurturing heart truly graced this world. She lived a life rich in creativity, love, and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
In 1981, Cyndi married the love of her life, Dale Girard, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, beginning a profound partnership that spanned over four decades. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, raising three wonderful sons: Colin, Tyler, and Graeme. As a devoted mother, Cyndi reminded her boys daily how proud she was of them, encouraging them to always be themselves, to be thoughtful towards others and always have fun.
Cyndi was a beloved sister to her siblings, Steve, Richard, and Betty, and an adored sister-in-law to Ann Phillips, Vicki Girard and Steve & Janet Girard. Her compassion extended beyond family as she forged bonds within her community, connecting friend circles and touching the lives of those around her in ways both big and small.
A guiding force in her family, Cyndi was known for her unique expressions of love. With a signature greeting for each of her sons and a whimsical spirit that encouraged all to embrace their individuality. She created countless memories throwing pottery and staying up late talking and laughing. It is these cherished moments, like impromptu shopping trips that led to matching tattoos, and days spent on the lanai playing with clay, that defined her legacy.
Cyndi found joy in pottery, jewelry-making, and drawing, channeling her creativity into every facet of life. She had a metaphysical spiritual focus that guided her. A lifelong collector, she filled her home with a treasure trove of rocks, glassware, and pottery, each piece telling a story of its own. Her love for music resounded through her life, with every catchy tune reminding those around her of her unmistakable free spirit. She gave us a lifetime of love every day. Even the seemingly mundane days held something special.
Cyndi is survived by her beloved husband, Dale, her three sons, and her treasured grandchildren, Gracie, Amelia, and Ellie. In her own words, Cyndi taught us to “be kind, be curious, and love life.” Cyndi loved Colorado and the mountains were a part of her soul. She will forever be remembered as a mountain girl with an independent free spirit who cherished every moment, and whose influence will continue to shine brightly through her family. Cyndi will be remembered at a celebration of life service, where family and friends will gather to honor her incredible life and enduring legacy. Details for this service will be shared in the coming days.
