Ark-Valley Humane Society (AVHS) announces the return of the Feline & Fido Photo Contest, now celebrating its 11th year of raising critical funds to support homeless pets in need.
The contest will open Sunday, September 27th, at 8:00am and close Sunday, October 11th, at 9:00pm.
During the contest, anyone can submit a photo of their beloved pet for a chance to be voted into the 2027 AVHS Calendar. All pets are welcome, your pet does not need to be a shelter pet or adopted from AVHS to participate. Photo submissions are $5 each, and votes are $1 each, with a $5 minimum donation. All payments made throughout this contest are considered tax-deductible donations.
Entrants are encouraged to rally friends, family, and social media followers to vote. The pet receiving the most votes will have their photo featured on the cover of the 2027 AVHS Calendar, while the 12 pets with the most votes will each be featured as the pet of one of the calendar’s 12 months. Every pet entered in the contest will also have their photo featured somewhere in the calendar.
Additionally, gift cards from local businesses will be awarded to the top three photos, including $100 in certificates for first place, $50 in certificates for second place, and $25 in certificates for third place.
