Salida residents will continue to see significant construction activity throughout the area over the next four to six weeks as several major public infrastructure projects and a private development project progress through key phases of work.
The City of Salida says they want the public to understand why so many projects are occurring at the same time and the long-term benefits these investments will provide the community.
The West Highway 291 infrastructure project is supported by grant funding that expires this year and must be completed with required timelines.
The South Ark Neighborhood infrastructure project is also funded through grant sources with established completion requirements. The project is a high priority City Council initiative supporting future workforce housing.
The Poncha Trunk Line Sewer Main project is moving forward in response to legal and regulatory obligations and represents a major investment in regional wastewater infrastructure.
The Flour Mill Development off of CR 105 is a private, affordable workforce housing project and is proceeding under approved development rights and agreements.
The City says that together, these projects represent significant investments in Salida’s infrastructure, utility systems, transportation network, and future housing opportunities.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan extra travel time, follow posted signage and use designated detour routes.
