Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is reminding people to plan ahead as many head outdoors for Labor Day weekend.
CPW says people heading out should check the weather first and pack accordingly. Afternoon thunderstorms have been common recently, and officials say conditions can change fast, including flash flooding.
Officials also want campers and other outdoor enthusiasts to be aware of increased bear activity. State wildlife officials are reporting a 130% increase in human/bear conflicts. If you plan to be on the water, wear a life jacket when boating or paddleboarding and make sure you have the right gear before heading out.
