Murder suspect Barry Morphew has been confined to his home under a judge’s order following a road rage and alleged hit-and-run incident in Denver on the evening of August 26th.
One of the drivers involved in the crash alleged to authorities that Morphew had been driving aggressively before hitting two cars. Morphew told the driver that he did not have insurance and offered her $300 cash for the damage to her car. Morphew can be seen in the video trying to buff out scratches on one of the cars with his hand and T-shirt. When the driver did not accept Morphew’s cash offer and said she was going to call the police, Morphew left the scene, driving over a curb and nearly hitting another person in the process.
Morphew is previously charged with murdering his wife, Suzanne Morphew, after she disappeared from their Maysville home six years ago. Her remains were found three years later in the San Luis Valley.
Morphew’s original terms of release include that he be confined to his home at all times, with exceptions for medical appointments, meetings with his legal team, attending court or working. In response to this incident, the judge applied stricter rules on his movements. He is now barred from leaving his home at all, with no exceptions. There will be a hearing next week to review the incident and determine whether a felony has been committed by Morphew, violating his bond agreement.
