Chaffee County Commissioners meet this morning at 9am in the Commissioner’s meeting room at the courthouse. 

On the consent agenda, they are to ratify the submission of a Marketing Management Grant application to the Colorado Tourism Office for a county branding initiative and approve a Mutual Interest Agreement with US Forest Service for Noxious Weed Treatment in Chaffee County.

Contracts and Grants under consideration are a ground lease with Colorado Parks and Wildlife for the operation of the Chaffee County Archery Range, a memorandum of understanding with the Chaffee Housing Authority, Poncha Springs, Buena Vista, and Salida for sharing regional Prop 123 commitments and a Grant Agreement and Inter-Governmental Agreement with the Colorado Energy Office for acceptance of the Local IMPACT Accelerator grant award supporting the County Waste Diversion and Facilities systems’ energy improvements.

Regular agenda items include consideration of Resolution 2026-31 in support of ballot measure 308, a letter to the US Forest Service clarifying ownership of Forest Service Road 295, review of Chaffee County’s Public Activity Bond allocation decision and a
a discussion of a potential call-up of a Special Event Permit Application for a concert at Cottonwood Hot Springs.
