On the first day of the Colorado legislative session yesterday a bill was filed that would ban most drivers from using cell phones and other mobile devices.

The bill says drivers wouldn’t be able to use their mobile devices for most purposes unless it’s through a hands-free accessory like Bluetooth.

If passed as written, police officers have to witness a person using eh mobile device while driving before a citation can be written.

The first penalty would be $50, and then it would go up to $100 and $200 for violations after that.
