Custer County has moved to Stage 3 Fire Restrictions.  This is the highest level of fire restrictions.

All outdoor “hot work” such as grinding, welding, and chainsaws are prohibited, along with any kind of outdoor fire, campfire, charcoal, propane grill, and outdoor cooking.

No outdoor smoking.  Diesel motor vehicles with a regenerative exhaust system are prohibited.

Drivers of all vehicles are urged to take special precautions, including not parking or driving over grass or weeds.

Stage 2 Fire Restrictions remain in effect for all public and private lands in Lake, Chaffee, Park, Saguache and Fremont Counties.

Under Stage 2 Restrictions, no campfires of any kind are allowed.  Allowed are LP gas or liquid fueled stoves which allow the operator to turn the flame on and off with a valve.
