Chaffee Fire and the U.S. Forest Service responded to a fire in refuse piles at the Chaffee County Landfill yesterday afternoon.
The fire was contained quickly and Chaffee County deputies were on the scene to ensure fire debris didn’t blow into surrounding brush. Again, the fire is contained and mop up operations are underway.
