The 78th annual FIBArk, the nation’s longest-running whitewater festival, continues through Sunday in Salida.
Today’s activities include carnival rides and live music at Riverside Park through 10 p.m. River competitions include the Head-to-Head Raft and SUP Sprint, Ducky Cross, and SUP Boxing.
Saturday’s schedule begins with the 5K and 10K road races and Kids Fun Run. The FIBArk Parade rolls down F Street beginning at 10 a.m., followed by the Hooligan Race at 5:30 p.m. Sunday’s events include the Downriver Races starting at 8:30 a.m. and the popular Crazy River Dog competition at 1:30 p.m.
The annual FIBArk Pancake Breakfast will be held Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Salida Community Center. Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice, and coffee. Admission is $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12.
In Buena Vista, the Friday at the Farm concert series returns tonight at Turner Farm. BV Stevie will perform from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is by donation.
The Salida Farmers Market takes place Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Alpine Park, featuring local foods, crafts, and live music.
On Sunday, Buena Vista Heritage hosts its Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Turner Farm, located at 829 West Main Street.
The Western Fremont Historical Society will host the fourth annual Wheels of Time Car Show on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Howard History Center. Admission is free.
Also this weekend, the 104th annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, known as the “Race to the Clouds,” takes place Sunday and is expected to feature 75 drivers competing on the famous mountain course.
