The Buena Vista has joined Chaffee County in reinstating Stage 1 Fire Restrictions due to increasing fire danger and dry conditions.
Town officials are urging residents and visitors to exercise extreme caution with any activity that could ignite a wildfire, including campfires, equipment use, smoking materials, and other potential ignition sources.
At this time, federal lands within the region, including the Pike National Forest and San Isabel National Forest, are not currently under fire restrictions.
Officials remind the public that even a small spark can quickly lead to a fast-moving wildfire under current conditions and encourage everyone to practice responsible fire safety.
