The Columbine Gem and Mineral Society will hold its monthly meeting tonight at Mount Shavano Manor beginning at 6 p.m.

Guest speaker Cindy Williams will discuss the geologic events that shaped many of the region’s most recognizable landmarks, including the Chalk Cliffs and Ruby Mountain.

The presentation will explore the natural forces and geological history that helped form the Upper Arkansas Valley landscape.
