The Salida Spartan State Championship girls basketball team has been selected as the Grand Marshal for this year’s July 4th Parade in Salida.
Organizers say the team was chosen in recognition of its outstanding state championship season and the pride the players have brought to the Salida community through their achievements on and off the court.
The annual Independence Day festivities are sponsored by High Country Bank, the City of Salida, and the Salida Community Center.
Parade participation is free, and entry forms are available at the High Country Bank Highway 50 branch. Completed forms must be returned by June 26 for consideration in this year’s parade lineup.
Organizers encourage local businesses, organizations, and community groups to participate in the annual celebration.
