The Salida City Council last week declined to repeal the existing R-32 zoning designation for the proposed 5-H LLC housing development.

The decision follows efforts by a group opposing the zoning approval for the planned 72-unit housing project. Opponents filed a referendum petition seeking to place the issue before voters.

As a result, the question of whether to uphold the zoning for the 5-H LLC housing development will appear on the November 3 General Election ballot.
