The Buena Vista Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting tonight beginning at 7 p.m., with several major agenda items up for discussion and possible action.

Among the evening’s business, trustees will consider whether to accept or reject the town’s 2025 audit report. The board will also conduct a public hearing regarding an amendment to the Electric Preferred Code.

In addition, trustees are expected to vote on amendments to Buena Vista’s water allocation policy and consider approving a letter to the Chaffee County Fire Protection District Board of Directors requesting that the town be allowed to enter the district.

If approved, Buena Vista residents could ultimately decide the issue through a ballot question appearing in the November election.

Following the regular meeting, trustees will adjourn into executive session to receive legal advice concerning the potential acquisition of land and water rights.

Prior to the regular meeting, trustees will participate in a tour of the town’s water treatment plant and airport property beginning at 6 p.m.
