SALIDA, Colo.— Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) is thrilled to announce that registered nurse Yvonne Agime, RN and licensed practicing nurse Tiffany Wagler, LPN are nominated for the 2026 Colorado Nurses Foundation Excellence in Nursing Awards.
The Colorado Nurses Foundation (CNF) is dedicated to improving healthcare and nursing practice in Colorado, with their mission focused on advancing nursing in Colorado through education, advocacy and recognition. CNF’s Excellence in Nursing Awards highlight the work of nurses in 16 key categories, fostering nursing excellence and promoting the leadership role of nurses in creating a sustainable healthcare system in Colorado.
Becoming a finalist for these awards follows a rigorous process. CNF partners with six Regional Area Health Education Centers (AHECs) and Associations, who receive nursing nominations and select finalists from their areas. Those finalists are then submitted for consideration to the State Selection Committee, which is comprised of representatives from each of the regional partners, CNF board members and previous Excellence in Nursing Award recipients. Sixteen award winners are chosen and will be announced at the Excellence in Nursing Award Gala on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 6 p.m. at the Denver Art Museum.
Ms. Agime and Ms. Wagler are both members of the patient care team at Custer County Health Center in Westcliffe, Colorado. Both nurses have worked there since prior to October 2020, when HRRMC assumed management of the clinic. Ms. Agime and Ms. Wagler are both fixtures in the community, supporting and treating patients in the Wet Mountain Valley and south-central Colorado region. We are extremely proud of their accomplishments and nominations for these highly visible and recognized awards.
