A Red Flag Fire Warning has been issued for much of the region as dry conditions and elevated fire danger continue.
In response, the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service have both implemented Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.
Under Stage 1 restrictions, campfires are only allowed in permanent fire rings within developed campgrounds. Campfires are not permitted in dispersed camping areas. Devices fueled by gas, jellied petroleum, or pressurized liquid fuel are still allowed.
Several counties in the area have also enacted their own fire restrictions, ranging from Stage 1 to stricter Stage 2 measures.
Officials emphasize that restrictions can vary by jurisdiction and urge residents and visitors to be aware of current regulations in their specific location to help prevent wildfires.
