Both major political parties in Chaffee County will hold their local caucus meetings tomorrow as part of the process leading up to this year’s primary elections.
The Chaffee County Democrats will hold their County Caucus followed by the County Assembly at Salida Middle School. Party members will gather to conduct party business, elect local leadership, and select delegates who will represent the county at higher-level assemblies.
Meanwhile, the Chaffee County Republican Caucus will take place at Darren Patterson Christian Academy in Buena Vista.
Caucus and assembly meetings are an important step in the election process. During these gatherings, party members elect local leaders, choose delegates, and vote on which candidates will move forward to appear on the June 30th primary ballot.
Looking ahead, the Chaffee County Republican Assembly is scheduled for March 28 at Poncha Springs Town Hall, with the Colorado Republican State Assembly set for April 11.
