The Colorado Aeronautical Board has approved more than $9 million in state funding to support aviation infrastructure improvements at airports across the state.

Several airports in the region are among the grant recipients. The Central Colorado Regional Airport in Buena Vista will receive $300,000 to install an automated weather observation system. Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport has been awarded $525,000 for new snow removal equipment, while Silver West Airport in Westcliffe will receive $475,000 for the installation of runway lighting.

State officials say the funding will help improve safety, reliability, and year-round operations at Colorado’s airports.
