The Poncha Springs Board of Trustees will convene a special meeting tonight at 5:30 p.m. at Poncha Springs Town Hall, with a full agenda that includes both legal discussions and a proposed new ordinance.
Trustees will begin the evening in an executive session to receive legal advice regarding the Friend Ranch property and its annexation agreement.
They will then move into an open meeting to consider a proposed ordinance that would require gas stations to provide restrooms and trash receptacles. The measure is tied to ongoing issues near the Tesla charging station on Chipeta Avenue, where nearby property owners have lodged multiple complaints about trespassing, litter, and dog waste from people stopping to charge their vehicles.
A vote on the ordinance could come as early as tonight.
