As Election Day approaches tomorrow, Chaffee County officials are reporting a steady increase in voter participation. Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder Lori Mitchell is reporting that 1,155 ballots were returned over the weekend for a total of 5,784.

Local election officials encourage residents to make their voices heard and ensure their votes are counted. Voters can still participate either by returning completed ballots or by casting their votes in person at designated locations.

Community leaders are applauding the high level of engagement and reminding residents that local elections play a crucial role in shaping county policies and priorities.

The Salida Vote Center at the Legion Hut is open for in-person voting today from 8am to 4pm, tomorrow from 7am to 7pm.  The Buena Vista Vote Center will open today at the Buena Vista Community Center from 10am to 4pm and tomorrow from 7am to 7pm.
