Who is best suited to join the Buena Vista School Board?

That question, along with others, will be answered when the Chaffee County Patriots ask school board candidates to answer community questions as to why they should be elected to serve on the BV school board. This is a free event open to both our membership and the public. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the St Rose Catholic Church Parish Hall.

The Buena Vista Board of Education is comprised of seven members who are elected by the local voters for a four-year term. Two members are at-large representatives, and five members represent specific districts or areas within the school district. Board meetings are held twice a month on the second and fourth Mondays. The public is always welcome to attend the meetings and may provide input during the public comment section of each meeting.

Three School Board seats are open, and vacancies will be filled by:

Laura Hansen – unopposed

Casey Martin or Jake Farber

Antonio Navarrette or Jeremiah Johnson
