Salida’s 32nd annual ArtWalk kicks off today and runs through Sunday, celebrating the community’s vibrant creative spirit.

High Country Bank launches the festivities tonight with Art on the Rocks at the SteamPlant, where attendees can paint their own wine glass and enjoy free appetizers and libations. The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required by calling 719-539-2516.

Also tonight at the SteamPlant, the Salida Council for the Arts and Salida Creative District are hosting their monthly Creative Mixer from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The mixer is free and open to all artists and art lovers.

Throughout the weekend, ArtWalk will feature gallery receptions, artist demonstrations, live music, lectures, and hands-on workshops. The event will also include art-making projects, the Mini Masterpiece auction, and the new ArtWalk Parade and Party in Riverside Park.

Meanwhile, Guidestone’s 19th annual Pumpkin Patch and Harvest Festival enters its final weekend tomorrow through Sunday at Hutchinson Ranch and Homestead on Highway 50 between Salida and Poncha Springs.

Festival activities include horse-drawn wagon rides, a straw bale maze, crafts, games, live music, and a free pumpkin with each child’s ticket.
