The Salida City Clerk’s Office has ruled that a referendum petition challenging the ordinance zoning the 5-H LLC annexation as high-density residential is valid.
The petition contained 414 valid signatures, surpassing the number required. A 10-day protest period is now open for challenges to the petition’s validity.
The ordinance will return to the Salida City Council on October 21st, when council will decide whether to repeal the zoning ordinance or refer the issue to voters. If referred, a special election will be held outside of the regular November election.
