The Buena Vista Civics Bee was held yesterday at the newly renovated American Legion Hall.
Sponsored by the Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce and the League of Women Voters of Chaffee County, the event featured 13 middle school students competing in civics-based question rounds and essay discussions.
Jordan DeWalt placed third, Ben Drexler placed second, and Zach Leon took first place. All three will compete in the State Civics Bee in Denver on May 30.
