Volunteers are needed this Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to help prevent erosion at the site of the Interlaken Fire near Twin Lakes. Participants will assist in creating barriers with rocks and felled trees to reduce the flow of ash and sediment into Twin Lakes.
The work will require a 3-mile roundtrip hike, along with carrying tools, rocks, and tree trunks on uneven terrain. Volunteers should bring lunch, extra water, sunscreen, boots, work clothes, and gloves.
