Voting in the General Election begins today, with ballots now mailed out to registered voters across Colorado. According to the Colorado Secretary of State’s office, ballot drop boxes must be open starting today.

In Chaffee County, there are 24/7 drop boxes available at the following locations:

  • Chaffee County Courthouse, 104 Crestone Avenue in Salida
  • Buena Vista Motor Vehicle Office, 112 Linderman Avenue

In-person voting is also available at the American Legion Hut located at 235 West 10th Street in Salida.

Registered voters who have not yet received their ballots should contact the county clerk and recorder’s office. If you haven’t registered to vote yet, there’s still time! You can register online at GoVoteColorado.gov, at the county clerk and recorder’s office, or at your local polling center, right up until Election Day.
