To accommodate anticipated inflows to Turquoise Lake from snowmelt and prevent an uncontrolled spill from Sugar Loaf Dam, the Bureau of Reclamation has increased reservoir releases. This action is expected to inundate and potentially damage County Road 5 in Lake County.

Local authorities have been informing downstream residents of the expected impacts, which could persist through late June. Mitigation measures are being implemented to fortify County Road 5 and surrounding areas.

Currently, no additional flooding or impacts are expected further downstream along Lake Fork Creek or beyond its confluence with the Arkansas River.
