SALIDA, Colo.— Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) Foundation is pleased to announce its annual Cancer Walk, taking place on Saturday, April 27 at 9 a.m. at HRRMC’s main campus, 1000 Rush Drive in Salida.

First established in 2018, the HRRMC Cancer Walk brings community members together through their shared experiences with cancer – whether survivors, directly affected family members, friends or community members – to walk together to benefit local oncology patients.

Registration for the event is now live at hrrmc.com/cancerwalk. Registration is $35 per person, and event t-shirts are available for an additional $5 now through April 11. Participants may still register online April 12 through April 26 at 4 p.m. without the option for a t-shirt. HRRMC will also accept day-of registrations.

On April 27, day-of registration will open at 8 a.m. The walk begins at 9 a.m., after a brief welcome ceremony and words from local cancer survivors, with all survivors recognized at that time. Refreshments and breakfast burritos will be available for purchase prior to the start of the event.

For those who cannot attend the in-person event, or wish to walk independently, they may do so anytime leading up to the community event on April 27. HRRMC will provide recommended walking trails in and around the communities of Salida, Buena Vista, Fairplay, Saguache and Westcliffe for a variety of skill levels.

Register online at hrrmc.com/cancerwalk or call (719) 530-2218 for more information.
