As of Sunday, November 5th, 5,257 ballots out of just over 16,000 registered voters had been returned to the Chaffee County Clerk’s Office.
It is too late to return your ballot by mail, postmarks do not count. Drop off your ballot in person.
If you have not received a ballot, go to GoVoteColorado.gov to check your registration and ballot status. Voters can also visit their county clerk’s office to pick up a ballot. You can register and vote right up to Election Day.
Besides the school board election, Buena Vista voters are being asked to increase property taxes to support a Buena Vista Library expansion. Salida voters are being asked to decide whether to repeal and replace the City’s Short Term Rental taxes with Question 300, elect two city council members and a treasurer.
There are also two statewide Propositions.
Proposition HH promises to reduce property taxes while doing away with Tabor refunds and Proposition II which asks the question of keeping or refunding excessive tobacco revenue collections and lowering taxes on tobacco products.
Ballots must be returned to the county clerk’s office by 7 pm Tuesday, November 7th, Election Day.
