Coloradans who have accumulated medical debt should check their credit reports as a first-in-the-nation law has gone into effect that essentially removes medical debt from being reported in credit reports.
It is important to note that medical debt isn’t forgiven.
An estimated 700,000 Coloradans have medical debt owing more than $1.3 billion.
