Friday afternoon (Jul. 8) Salida PD was dispatched to the area of Columbine Manor for a suspicious vehicle.
When officers arrived, they found a stolen vehicle that had been left behind. In speaking to the reporting party, officers were informed that a male subject wearing a dark wig got out of the vehicle. The male subject grabbed a bag and threw it in the back of another smaller gray vehicle.
Based on information from an earlier date, officers began to search the area for a gray vehicle belonging to Ashley Egan. A short while later, a Colorado State Parks Officer spotted the vehicle. SPD and Chaffee County Officers arrived at his location and conducted a high risk traffic stop. During the traffic stop, Daniel Egan was located hiding in the back seat of the vehicle.
Daniel Egan was booked on a $100,000 cash bond for the original charges listed below. He is also facing new charges for multiple motor vehicle thefts within the Colorado Springs and Salida area. His additional bond amount is $12,000 cash.
Ashley Egan is being charged with accessory. Her bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.

[Original Post] The Salida Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in locating, Daniel Egan 47, Salida. Mr. Egan currently has a shaved head with a gray goatee. Mr. Egan has tattoos on his head, face, neck, arms, and hands. He has the name Anna tattooed above his right eye. Mr. Egan is wanted on nationwide warrants for the following charges, 1st Degree Murder, 2nd Degree Murder, 1st Degree Assault w/ Deadly Weapon, 2nd Degree Assault Serious Bodily Injury, 2nd Degree Assault Strangulation, 2nd Degree Assault Injury w/ Deadly Weapon, Violent Crime Used Weapon, Violent Crime Caused Death.
The Salida Police Department is actively searching for Mr. Egan and will continue to do so until he is in custody. Mr. Egan has an extensive criminal history and should be considered armed and dangerous.
