The Salida School Board held a regular meeting Tuesday, Mar. 9th, to vote on a revised recommendation from Superintendent David Blackburn on Principal Talmage Truillo.
The board met last week in a special meeting to vote on a recommendation from the Superintendent to demote Trujillo to a teaching position. That recommendation was defeated by a vote of 4 to 3.
The board returned to public session where board members acknowledged the difficulty of the situation for all involved. They thanked the community for their engagement and expressed their commitment to considering the volume of letters, calls and messages received.
Trujillo was charged with misdemeanor charges of harboring a minor and obstructing an officer during a September 23rd lockdown at the school.
The Salida principal was arrested for a second time after allegedly erasing evidence from his phone in front if police after being served with a search warrant.
Trujillo remains on paid administrative leave.
