The Colorado Department of Transportation, Colorado State Patrol and local law enforcement are teaming up for the final “Heat is On” DUI enforcement period of the year. 

As drivers hit the road to celebrate the holidays, the Colorado department of Transportation, Colorado State Patrol and local law enforcement agencies are gearing up to keep travelers safe from impaired drivers.

Drivers will see sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols and additional law enforcement on duty dedicated to impaired driving enforcement.

As of December 1st, there have been 620 fatalities on Colorado roads, of which 221, or 36 percent, involved an impaired driver.
