Barry Morphew makes a court appearance today in the first of 4 days of preliminary hearings. Morphew will be back in front of District Judge Patrick Murphy tomorrow, 23rd and 24th.

Chaffee County District Court has released new details on how they will conduct the hearings for Barry Morphew, who is accused of murdering his wife Suzanne. 49-year-old Suzanne Morphew has been missing since May 10, 2020 from the Maysville area after going out for a bike ride and never returning.

Almost a year to the day following her disappearance, Barry Morphew was arrested and charged with first degree murder after deliberation, tampering with physical evidence, and an attempt to influence a public servant.

Morphew’s attorney Iris Eytan said that she plans on calling 8 witnesses and present 450 exhibits in the first two days of the four-day hearing.

The court announced is not live streaming the hearing to the public viaWebEx. However, the Court is live streaming the proceedings in the main hall of the Chaffee County fairgrounds.

The 130-page arrest warrant remains sealed.
