People aged 12 and above are now eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Pfizer is used for those 12-17, while all three vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson) can be used for adults. Minors under the age of 18 who wish to receive a COVID-19 vaccine need parental consent. Parents do not need to be present for the vaccination as long as consent is documented, but they should check with the vaccine provider to confirm.

15,385 San Luis Valley residents have been fully vaccinated, which is a third of the total population and around 41% of those age 16 and up. Vaccines are the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones, and to end the pandemic. There is no cost to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

Families who have lost a loved one to COVID-19 may apply for financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020. A scam alert has been issued to make the public aware that FEMA will not call to reach out and register people for this program. You must initiate the application yourself by calling the FEMA COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Line Number at 1-844-684-6333 or TTY 1-800-462-7585. The application is easy and those who answer the assistance line will help you through the process.

The providers listed below also continue to offer vaccines. Online signup links for these providers can be found at slvphp.com. If you have an appointment and you can’t make it, please call to cancel.
