Chaffee County Public Health is reporting 21 new Covid-19 cases in the last 7 days, 36 in the last 14 days, for a two-week positivity rate of 2.09 percent.  

There are 72 known cases in the San Luis Valley including 39 in Alamosa County and 14 in Saguache County.    

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center currently has 3 Covid-19 patients and is operating at 56 percent capacity.   

Salida schools yesterday discovered 10 new positive Covid cases across four buildings.   

Many students have been quarantined and some classes have switched to remote learning. Principals have contacted all affected students and their parents.    

Cotopaxi schools are also reporting an outbreak. Due to quarantine guidelines, the Cotopaxi volleyball team will not be able to compete in the regional tournament this Saturday.   

Chaffee County Public is still offering Covid-19 vaccinations for the general public.

To date, just over 18,000 Covid-19 doses have been administered to Chaffee County residents. 58 percent of the county have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
