The New York Post is reporting that Barry Morphew, the husband of Suzanne Morphew, stayed in a Denver hotel prior to her disappearance and left his room smelling of chlorine.
Morphew was reported missing by a neighbor on Mother’s Day after not returning from a bike ride.
The report says Barry was in Broomfield at the time working on a landscaping job. A co-worker, Jeff Puckett, claims Barry had summoned him to a Holiday Inn hotel room on May 10 where Morphew stayed the night. Puckett said the room “smelled like chlorine real bad.”
Security footage from the hotel from the weekend of Suzanne’s disappearance has since been turned over to FBI investigators.
Puckett told DailyMail.com, “It was kind of weird. My first thought was that this must be like an alibi. That’s what if felt like.”
Puckett’s account comes after Barry said last week that he sat for 30 hours of interviews with police and accused investigators of mishandling the investigation.
Suzanne’s brother, Andrew Moorman, is organizing a five-day search for his sister set to begin September 23, saying his family has waited over 3 months for answers. Moorman said he hopes to recruit more than a 1,000 volunteers to scour the mountains near Maysville.
