Chaffee County Search and Rescue North had a busy week last week, logging 225 person-hours over 4 call-outs.

You are reminded to get your CORSAR card in hiking in the backcountry.

Search and Rescue never charges for response and will provide help to anyone who needs it.  Teams cover expenses, including gear and fuel, through personal contributions, fundraisers, grants and donations.  When a person has a CORSAR card, Chaffee County Search and Rescue is able to seek reimbursement for some mission-related expenses through the state Search and Rescue fund.

The Colorado Outdoor Recreation Search and Rescue Card is only $3 for a one-year card and $12 for a five-year card and can be purchased online at dola.colorado.gov/sar/cardPurchase.jsf.
