Hard work always pays off, and that’s definitely the case for both Quinn Bosanko and Flyn Brown, formerly of the Salida Spartans and Chaffee County United soccer teams.
Why formerly?
Both Bosanko and Brown were able to earn spots on the Real Colorado club team as they will be competing for spots in the starting 11 over the next few weeks.
The competition is tough according to both of them, with practices and scrimmages bringing the same intensity as the 2019 semi-final they both were big players in for Salida against Roaring Fork, excepts now it is day in and day out.
For a pair of players who have aspirations for levels beyond this, to college and even professional, this is a golden chance, and both wanted to thank many people who have gotten them this far. A big influence though, and the one who opened the door for the try out with Real Colorado was Salida coach Ben Oswald, who has contacts with the team and was able to get them an invite to the try-out.
After three days of competition for a spot, the waiting came for the announcement they had made the team.
Three weeks of workouts later, Bosanko and Brown are getting more comfortable. Something which has been helped by the presence of a familiar face, which Bosanko says has been a big help both on the pitch and off the pitch.
The two are preparing for what hopefully will be a full competitive season this fall with the club.
