The City of Salida will be stepping down and moving to Tier II of its COVID-19 Action Plan beginning today.
The change is thanks to COVID-19 cases decreasing in Chaffee County.
Under the Tier II phase, the City of Salida will be opening the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center to the public on a limited basis. Also, the Paquette Gallery at the SteamPlant Event Center will reopen.
In addition, the City Council and the Planning Commission meetings will allow very limited in-person attendance for public hearings.
Salida Mayor P.T. Wood said, “Salidans have gone to great lengths to limit the spread of COVID-19, and we can see how important it is to use all best practices as we slowly reopen our facilities. Our case count has remained low over the past month due to our collective sacrifices, so it’s important to remain diligent to keep from having to close again.”
The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office will open their records office beginning on Monday. Business hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm.
Fingerprinting, for concealed carry permits, and court ordered fingerprints, will resume on Saturday, June 27th.
Masks are mandatory for fingerprinting.
The Chaffee County Clerk’s Office remains closed to the public, but they have an information tent set up outside where staff can help you with voting, motor vehicle transactions, and recordings.
If you have not received your ballot for the June 30th Primary you need to act today by calling 530-5604. Monday is the last day a ballot can be mailed to a voter. Beginning Tuesday, June 23rd, voter will have to visit the vote center to pick up a ballot.
