Chaffee County Public Health is reporting that there are now 34 cases of COVID-19 in the county. 

  • 19 of the 34 cases are at Columbine Manor in Salida.   
  • Two people have died from COVID-19 in Chaffee County.
  • Custer County is reporting 2 cases of COVID-19
  • Lake County Public Health is reporting 3 positive cases of COVID-19.
  • Saguache County has 3 cases.
  • Fremont County has 3 positive cases. 
  • Gunnison County is reporting 95 positive cases and yesterday announced the second death in Gunnison County due to COVID-19. 

Statewide today, 150 deaths have been confirmed, 994 hospitalized as cases total more than 5,172. There are 37 outbreaks at residential and non-hospital health care facilities in the state, including Columbine Manor. There are 14 positive cases at Columbine, consisting of residents and staff. 

The state remains under a ‘Stay-at-Home’ order until at least April 26th.

The order is meant to stem the spread of the coronavirus by minimizing contact between residents to the greatest extent possible. 

You are allowed to leave your homes to get essential items and to exercise, however, when you leave your home, you should at all times comply with social distancing requirements, which is to maintain a distance of 6 feet from one another.  Coloradans are also encouraged to wear non-medical cloth face coverings when leaving the home for essential business.
