Salida’s 9th Annual Drive-By Food Drive will take place Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Su Casa Furniture & Sleep Shop, located at the corner of 3rd and F streets.

Community members are invited to drive up and drop off nonperishable food donations, no need to get out of the car or off your bike. Donations will benefit the Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, which serves local families in need.

Those unable to attend on Saturday can drop off items at Su Casa anytime during the week of November 11–14 (note: the store will be closed Monday). Donations can also be arranged by calling 719-539-4343 for curbside collection.

Most needed items include:

  • Boxed cereal
  • Tuna fish and canned chicken
  • Soups, peanut butter, and jelly
  • Vegetable oil, small bags of flour or sugar
  • Canned pasta meals, spaghetti sauce, and snack crackers
  • Canned fruits, refried beans, juices, and protein or snack bars

Organizers note that dry rice, dry beans, canned vegetables, yams, and pumpkins are not currently needed due to an existing surplus.

The event is sponsored by Su Casa Furniture & Sleep Shop, which encourages residents to participate in this simple, impactful community tradition.

“It’s fast. It’s easy. And it makes a difference,” the organizers said in a statement promoting the event.
