Fire crews continue to make progress battling the “24 Fire” burning on Fort Carson land along Highway 115 in Fremont County. As of last night, officials confirmed the wildfire has expanded to more than 7,000 acres, with containment reaching 24%.

There is some encouraging news for nearby residents. Evacuation orders that were previously in place have now been lifted, and officials report that the fire is moving away from surrounding housing developments. However, Highway 115 will remain closed through at least Friday as crews continue their work in the area.

Although conditions are improving, smoke will still be visible across the region. Firefighters remain actively engaged in containment efforts, working to secure the perimeter and prevent further spread.

The fire алғаш ignited on March 18 and is believed to be human-caused. Fortunately, no injuries or structural damage have been reported so far.

Officials continue to monitor the situation closely and urge the public to stay informed and avoid restricted areas while firefighting operations are ongoing.
