A district court judge this week removed 11th Judicial District Attorney Jeff Lindsey from a double murder trial and tossed out first-degree charges to punish the prosecutor.
The Wet Mountain Tribune said Judge Lauren Swan spent an hour detailing the ongoing misconduct and “lack of candor” to the court by Lindsey and his staff over the past year and a half since Lindsey took office in November of 2024. J. They are accused of hiding key evidence in the murder trial of Suzzette Salyer and Anthony Fogle who were indicted by a grand jury for the shooting deaths of Ryan Roth and Rodolfo Reyes in Canon City. Judge Swan detailed over 23 incidents where she found the DA’s Office failed to share evidence with the defense.
Swan then reduced the first-degree murder charges to second-degree and removed the DA’s office from the case. A special prosecutor would be appointed.
